A joint construction
Ed's second kiosk might not have been possible without the help of Egnahemsfabriken's carpenters and thirty volunteers, who came to Håbol in Dalsland in the summer of 2021 to learn how to build.

Egnahemsfabriken is an association for anyone who wants to learn to build. The course yard at Tjörn hosts a number of workshops and courses. Often these involve small constructions, such as a pizza oven, a sauna, a greenhouse or a small dwelling, a so-called tiny house.
In the summers, Egnahemsfabriken usually arranges a building brigade, or building together, where the association goes out into the country to help someone with their project. The participants contribute their work and Egnahemsfabriken is responsible for training and organization.
In the summer of 2021, it was Ed's second kiosk's turn to house the construction team. Many people wanted to participate, and in order to accommodate everyone, we received help from Ed's municipality, which let us rent a boarding school where everyone could live. We also arranged two small houses near the construction site to accommodate everyone. For the construction itself, we rented an entire sports field and dance floor from Håbols IF.
It became a bit like a building festival, with seminars, karaoke, a football match and a roof-topping party, to which everyone in the village was invited. To make it all work, all participants were divided into groups that were responsible for different things during the week. Not least the food. Every day we had to cook lunch and dinner and arrange coffee for over thirty people. During the week, a blacksmithing course was also arranged under the leadership of blacksmith Jessica Fleetwood from Not Quite in Fengefors.
